Unable to change file/folder name

I am having trouble changing file/folder name on my computer machine.
Once a file/folder is created, I am unable to change the names.
When right clicking on "change name", a box appears to change, but does
not respond when I actually punch in the keys.
Please help!

Can you post more details? What distro are you using? Which windowing system (ie Gnome or KDE)?

An alternative way is to go your terminal and use the mv command. You can go to the directory and use mv to rename the directory.
